1. Change Places If… ⭐

Students sit in a circle or stay at their desks. You call out:

Change places if you…

• get up before 7.
• have a pet.
• play video games every day.
• watch TikTok.
• walk to school.
• do homework after dinner.
• go to bed after 11.

Everyone for whom the sentence is true changes places.

Then let students become the teacher and make the sentences.

Extra speaking: Stop someone after moving:

Teacher: Do you play video games every day?
Student: Yes, I do.
Teacher: What games do you play?

2. Stand Up If… + Guess the Student

Say:

Stand up if you play a sport.

Students stand up.

Then choose one:

What sport do you play?
I play basketball.

Next, a student takes over:

Stand up if you watch Netflix every week.

After several rounds, turn it into a memory game:

Who plays basketball?
Does Marc play basketball?

Students answer:

Yes, he does. / No, he doesn't.

So you get I/you + third person naturally.

3. Present Simple Speed Dating 🔥

Make two lines of students facing each other.

Give them a topic orally:

ROUND 1 — Morning routine

They have one minute to ask each other questions:

What time do you get up?
Do you have breakfast?
How do you come to school?

Then:

CHANGE!

One line moves one person.

Next rounds:

• Free time
• Weekends
• Food
• Social media
• Sport
• School
• Music

At the end, randomly ask:

What does Laura do at weekends?

Now they need the third-person -s.

4. Who Am I? — Present Simple Edition 🕵️

One student thinks of a famous person or character.

The others can only ask Present Simple questions:

Do you live in Spain?
Do you sing?
Do you play football?
Do you make videos?
Do you appear on TV?

But once they discover the gender/person type, encourage:

Does he play football?
Does she sing?

Maximum 10 questions before they have to guess.

This one can become surprisingly competitive!

5. The Human Lie Detector 😂

One student comes to the front.

They say something about their habits:

I get up at 5 every morning.

The class interrogates them:

What time do you go to bed?
Why do you get up so early?
What do you do at 5?
Do you have breakfast?
Does your family get up at 5 too?

The student must keep answering—even if the original sentence is completely invented.

After about one minute:

TRUE OR FALSE?

Everyone votes.

Then reveal the answer.

This is especially good because students have a real reason to listen and ask follow-up questions.

⭐ One more: the 5-second challenge

This is brilliant as a quick warmer.

You say:

Tell me THREE things you do every morning. GO!

They have 5 seconds:

I brush my teeth, I have breakfast, I check my phone.

Other challenges:

Three things you never do at school!
Three things your mother/father does every day!
Three things you do at weekends!
Three things your best friend likes!
